"JIMBO" (ASWARA's first feature film)

When I was attend retreat ASWARA activity's planning 2009 (22-24 December 2008) in Port Dickson, faculty of film & Video had put proposal to issue ASWARA first feature film. This proposal had been well received by Rektor. Finally a few years after, idea to produce feature film can be realized. Although this film budget has been reduced of RM 1 million to RM 250,000.00, I still felt thanks. This is a good beginning and progress to film faculty. If this film is unsaleable in market, not waste and disappointed sense. We need prove first that this idea will succeed before ask more budget in the future.

I would work as producer for this ASWARA's first film. This film will not use film camera medium, but enough by using HD's camera. Surely its a delight to be shared with students when wishful thinking will implemented. This first film will be titled 'Jimbo'. His name heard pretty funny, but his story is very attractive. A story about a commune who live in underground (drain) Kuala Lumpur. Them have lived and grow since Yap Ah Loy's time. Be Malay community, Chinese and others live by clustered like those live above Kuala Lumpur land.

This attractive screenplay has been written by Dr Anuar Nor Arai. This film will be worked by students and lecturers together with several famous actor/actress. Although this film only with low budget but I should prove capacity to generate superlative. This is success result for film faculty will be appearing in year 2009. After proving short films successes in international and local film festival, now time try creating name with feature film.
